A STUDY OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN SIERRA LEONE

The Ministry of Information and Communications oversees and provides policy direction and guidance on Information Communication Technology (ICT) issues in Sierra Leone. The Telecommunications Act of 2006 and its subsequent amendment is the current legal framework that governs the ICT sector. The Act established the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) as the body charged with the regulation of telecommunications services. The Commission, among other things, provides for the licensing and regulation of telecommunications operators and for the promotion of universal access to basic telecommunication services.
